Funerals |
Funerals The death of someone you love is always traumatic. But even in your darkest moments, you need not fear for God is with you. He is close to you "Do not let your hearts be troubled" Jesus says. The Parish Priest will be glad to discuss with you any aspects of the Funeral Liturgy. We will assist you in the preparation of the Funeral Liturgy - readings from Scripture, Prayers of the Faithful, Offertory Procession, Sacred Music, etc.
Directive of the Diocese of Meath for Funeral Masses Eulogies are not to be part of the Funeral Mass. These can take place in the Funeral Home or in the Cemetery, after the burial. Readings at the Funeral Mass must be taken from the Lectionary and music must be appropriate. Songs, poems and texts devoid of a Christian content are out of place. A post-Communion reflection of a prayerful nature can serve to enhance the Liturgy.
